Parish Groups

Additional help in these ministries is always welcomed. If you have a willingness to share your skills please contact the parish office by phone, email, note in the letterbox or a visit to the office on a day it is open.

Altar Society:
The Altar Society assists with the general cleaning and preparation of the Sanctuary in the Church.

Catechists:
The Catechists are men and women who share the gift of the Catholic faith to the children in our local State Schools. Currently, we attend Ashbury PS and Canterbury PS on a weekly basis during school term. Lessons are approximately 30 mins each. Teacher Manuals and Children’s Workbooks are used for the lessons.

Church Cleaners:
The Church Cleaners dust the pews and vacuum the main body of the Church on a roster system. The Church is cleaned each week.

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion:
The Extraordinary Ministers of Communion assist the priest with the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass. They may also be called upon to take Communion to the sick and housebound.

Lectors:
The Lectors exercise their ministry during Liturgical Celebrations. They introduce the liturgy, proclaim the Word of God and also lead the Prayers of the Faithful.

Music & Choir:
These men and women sing and/or play an instrument at our Liturgical Celebrations. Music enhances the celebration of the Liturgy.

Parish Pastoral Council:
This group of men and women is an advisory group to the Parish Priest in areas of Parish Life such as Pastoral, Spiritual and Liturgical. They meet on a regular basis and when special events are being planned.

St Vincent de Paul Society:
The SVDP meet once a month and have an outreach ministry to those in need in our local area. They also coordinate the annual Winter and Christmas Appeals appeals during the year.
